Alumni Passion for Science & Teaching Comes Full Circle

"I graduated from SEMO with the goal of becoming a high school social studies teacher. But ever since I was little, I’ve had a deep love for science, especially earth science. I grew up watching documentaries and reading books about tornadoes, hurricanes, rivers, and more. That passion never left, and it even led me to minor in environmental science in college.

Flash forward to this summer, and here's a fun plot twist: I’ve officially accepted a position teaching Earth Science and Biology! I’m beyond excited to become a Spartan and begin this next chapter.

We prepare future educators and school leaders to meet the unique challenges of teaching and leading in grades 5–12 by equipping you with:

From your first year, you’ll gain experience in real classrooms, working alongside experienced educators. You’ll also train in our EDvolution® Center, where you’ll explore the latest teaching technologies and graduate with Google Educator and Apple Teacher certifications, giving you a competitive edge in today’s tech-integrated schools.
